This waterfront residential development offers an ideal setting, appealing to people wishing to live in a luxurious, vibrant and friendly community… it provides an ideal destination for people of all ages.

A great place to live

Opportunities abound for those who wish to engage in Portsmouth’s historical, cultural and community activities.

The Gunwharf Quays Resident Company (GQRC) manages our residential estate, which comprises 396 properties in eleven blocks of apartments and two rows of terraced townhouses.

The GQRC estate contains four areas of historic interest, which the leaseholders are responsible for maintaining. The Vulcan Building and The Old Infirmary (both residential blocks), the perimeter wall, and Nelson’s Arch are all Listed and under the control and guidance of English Heritage and Portsmouth City Council. Gunwharf Quays, in Old Portsmouth, is a mix of commercial and residential areas,   with rail and bus terminals adjacent to the north and the Wightlink ferry port to the east. The wide range of historic attractions, shops and restaurants are easily accessible by road, bus, rail and ferries. Portsmouth Harbour station is just a 5-minute walk away, giving great access to London, Heathrow and Gatwick airports, Brighton, Bristol and South Wales. In fact, from Gunwharf Quays it is possible to travel anywhere in the world without getting in a car!

The Gunwharf Quays commercial centre regularly arranges activities, including vintage car displays, funfairs, and food markets; there is also a multi-screen cinema, bowling alley and casino on the site, so there is plenty of entertainment!

The Spinnaker Tower affords panoramic views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and along the coast towards Southampton and Brighton. Just a few steps away is the Historic Dockyard, home to the Royal Navy, which houses museums, HMS Victory, The Warrior and the Mary Rose.  An interesting walk in the opposite direction takes in Old Portsmouth, with its lovely mix of historic and contemporary homes, the St Thomas Cathedral, the Round and Square Towers and other fortifications, plus a good selection of pubs and restaurants.

The port of Portsmouth is home to the Brittany, Condor, Gosport and Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries and there is a convenient bus service to the recently opened international cruise ship terminal.

To the east of our Estate sits the 80+ acres of Southsea Common, which stages many activities and functions, such as The Great South Run and the Victorious Music Festival, to name just two. Adjacent to the Common are the D-Day Museum, Southsea Castle and both the Clarence and South Parade Piers, together with the quick and easy Hovercraft service between Southsea seafront and Ryde, on the Isle of Wight.

To sum up, it’s a great place to live and a destination that family and friends love to visit!
